Our Graduated Approach to Supporting Every Child

At My Little Angels Day Nursery, we believe every child is unique and develops in their own way. Our team is committed to recognising and supporting each child’s individual needs so they can thrive and feel confident in their learning.

We use a graduated approach, which simply means we observe, assess, plan, and review each child’s progress regularly. This helps us to notice early on if a child might need a little extra help in any area of their development.

If we notice a child is finding something tricky, we start by offering simple strategies and extra support within their everyday play and routines. Often, these small adjustments are all that’s needed to help a child grow in confidence and make progress.

If, after trying these approaches, a child still needs more help — or if they have a specific disability that requires particular adjustments — their key person will talk to our SENCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and the child’s parents or carers. Together, we’ll discuss the best next steps and decide how we can work in partnership to support the child’s learning and development.

Our goal is always to ensure every child feels included, valued, and supported, whatever their needs may be.
