Our Forest School Ethos 🌿

At My Little Angels Day Nursery, we’re passionate about giving children the chance to connect with nature and learn through hands-on exploration. That’s why we follow the Forest School ethos and provide weekly Forest School sessions for all our children.

We’re incredibly lucky to have Bonnet’s Woods right behind our nursery — a beautiful natural space that gives us unlimited access to the outdoors. It’s the perfect setting for our little adventurers to explore, discover, and grow in confidence surrounded by nature.

What is Forest School?

Forest School is an inspiring, child-centred approach to learning that takes place in a natural environment. It encourages children to develop confidence, independence, resilience, and a love for the outdoors through practical, play-based experiences.

During our Forest School sessions, children might:

• Build dens and explore imaginative play

• Hunt for mini beasts and learn about nature

• Create natural art using sticks, leaves, and mud

• Learn simple tool use and safety skills

• Work together, problem-solve, and build teamwork

Every session is carefully planned by our qualified practitioners, ensuring activities are safe, engaging, and suited to each child’s age and ability.

Through these experiences, children develop a deep respect for the natural world while building essential life skills — all while having fun and making lasting memories in the great outdoors.
