EYFS

How We Use the EYFS

At My Little Angels Day Nursery, we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) — a government framework that helps us support your child’s learning, development, and wellbeing from birth to five years old.

We see every child as a unique little individual with their own interests, strengths, and ways of learning. The EYFS helps us to nurture those qualities, making sure each child is given the time, space, and encouragement they need to grow at their own pace.

Through a mix of play, discovery, and gentle guidance, our caring practitioners use the EYFS to plan fun, engaging activities that build key skills such as:

  • Communication and Language – helping children express themselves and listen to others

  • Physical Development – encouraging movement, coordination, and healthy habits

  • Personal, Social and Emotional Development – supporting confidence, friendships, and independence

  • Literacy and Mathematics – introducing early reading, writing, and number skills through play

  • Understanding the World – exploring nature, people, and the community around us

  • Expressive Arts and Design – inspiring creativity and imagination

We believe the best learning happens when children feel safe, loved, and happy. By working in close partnership with families, we ensure that every child’s journey with us is filled with joy, discovery, and a real love for learning.
